Arcana

Universal Agent Skill Manager

Arcana is an open-source command line tool that manages skills for AI coding agents. Every skill an agent has installed costs context on every turn, so Arcana installs skills and then curates which ones load, based on the project, the token budget and actual usage.

What he built

  • Version 5 cut the library from 74 broad skills to 22 deep ones. Each skill is a SKILL.md with job-first triggers, references for the detail, tested scripts and eval cases that check it fires only when it should.
  • A CLI where every command supports --json and NO_COLOR, published on npm as @sporesec/arcana.
  • Quality gates that run lint, types, tests with coverage, a strict skill check (frontmatter, triggers, a 500-line cap, licence and version) and a security scan.
  • Native loading in Claude Code; arcana init points other agents at the same skills.
